Heal my tongue

When I receive Holy Communion, I entreat and beg the Savior to heal my tongue, that I may never fail in love of neighbour. (Diary 590)

We are Christ's ambassadors

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of his body (which is the church) in filling up that which is lacking in Christ's afflictions. Colossians 1:24

Q. ~ What does this mean that when Paul suffers for the church he is "filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions"? How can any man fill up what is surely as full as any suffering could be?

A. ~ It is full and lacking in nothing—except one thing, a personal presentation by Christ himself to the nations of the world and the people you know. God's answer to this lack is to call the people of Christ to present the afflictions of Christ to the world—to carry them from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.

In doing this we "fill up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ." We finish what they were designed for, namely, a personal presentation to the world of people who do not know about their infinite worth.

Compelling abortion story

"I did contemplate adoption, but I had such a strong sense of pride and righteousness, that I was afraid that another family would not raise my child as I saw fit, and that it would haunt me for the rest of my life.  Many women who choose abortion over adoption report this feeling, a feeling of ...." Why condoms for Africa are stupid

Your country spends so much money sending us condoms.
I'll never grow old enough to care.
