My friend emailed me today and said that with the flu running rampant around our town (NOT the swine flu, just a mid-spring variety) she will not be receiving from the chalice. Fair enough. I am just getting over our local flu and I will also be refraining from the cup just in case I pass this nasty virus on.
However, she went on the say she felt sorry for Father having to try and avoid people's tongues while placing the Host there. She didn't think he should have to deal with that in this day and age when germs are so strong. She wondered what good is it if he gets sick or passes it on to others.
How would you address the germ factor?
